Adult insect
from 2.5 to 6 mm long, red brown color.

Larva
from 5 to 7 mm long, white color.

Attacked wood aspects
This insect attacks only leafy trees. Galleries have circular section, and are  parallel to the wood thread.

 
Big "vrillette" (Xestobium rufovillosum)
Adult Insect
from 6 to 11 mm long, dark brown color.

Larva
from 5 to 7 mm long, white color.
The exit holes are rounds and  4 mm in diameter.

Attacked wood  aspects
This insect attacks only coniferous and leafy trees (wood infected by mushroom of cubic or fibrous rot). Galleries have circular section and are parallel to the wood thread.

Adult insect
from 2.5 to 5 mm long, more or less dark brown color.

Larva
from 2.5 to 5 mm long, white color.
The exit holes are rounds and from 2 to 3 mm in diameter.

This insect attack coniferous and leafy trees. Galleries have circular section and are parallel to the wood thread.
 

 
Capricorn (Hylotrupes bajulus)
Adult insect
from 10 to 20 mm long, dark brown to black color.

Larva
from 20 to 25 mm long, white ivory color.
Cylindrical elongated form, largest in the front than behind.
The exit holes are rounds and from 4 to 7 mm in diameter.

Attacked wood aspects
This insect attacks only resinous woods. Galleries have oval section, and are parallel to the wood thread. There is worm-hole.
